Happy Birthday, My Loves

Today marks one of the most important and special days in my life- it marks the anniversary of me becoming a mother. Two years ago today, my beautiful baby girl entered the world, and not only am I lucky to call her my daughter, but I am also lucky enough to share a birthday with her! And not only that, but my wonderful husband's birthday was two days ago, and it has just been nothing but celebration since. What a wonderful way to celebrate birthdays, as one big family.
And the little guy will have to get his own very special celebration in September!

I have fallen for faux fur like I've fallen for sequins- I can't get enough! The question I beg, yet again, is- when is it appropriate? My sister and I have decided that faux fur is definitely something that needs to be introduced into one's wardrobe in a gradual way, but how do you start? When I see photos like these, I am absolutely in love with the look, but I am just a suburban mom trying to up the chic factor just a tad. Thoughts?

I have just recently come across the wonderful Framed blog, full of tasty and fairly simple recipes. The author, Kate, is a self-taught cook who posts recipes from all over on her blog, and her requirement is that they take no longer than 30 minutes to make- love that!

Still no baby, and I'm officially overdue for the second time...ugh. The bright side? They're bringing me in on Tuesday night for an induction- hallelujah! Not to mention, Miss J was more than worth the wait, and I'm sure that will be the case for this little one, too. In the mean time, I will just keep getting my life organized and planned out in the next couple days- with my fingers crossed!

Party Time

Madewell's new fall collection has arrived, and I've decided that this would be my ideal outfit for my first night out, post-baby delivery.






Well, probably not the bracelets with such a sparkly top, but I had to include them, as they would be the perfect addition to my jewelry collection, nonetheless!

My Current State

So I'm now officially in waiting mode for this baby. My due date is this Saturday, August 28th, and I can't wait for this little baby to arrive! I'm trying to stay on top of laundry, keeping the house clean, and stocking the house with all the little things Miss J might need, but otherwise, all I'm doing is waiting. And just to keep things nice and crazy, J has decided that her crib is no longer a suitable place for her to sleep, so we are moving her to a "big girl bed" this week. My little baby is turning into a big girl and getting ready to be a big sister...what a week!
Fingers crossed for a new, healthy arrival soon! Stay tuned!

They sell unfinished pieces, pieces they have re-done themselves, or you can being your own piece to them to have reupholstered. I would love one of their chairs or stools in my house!

I've been currently obsessing over grey, textured boots, particularly some of the ones I've seen on my favorite Bravo shows- "Flipping Out" and "9 By Design." You can't get much more celebratory that sequins, am I right? I always struggle with this because I absolutely love the look of a sequin top or skirt, but can never find an occasion to wear them...New Years? Bachelorette parties? Clubbing? When would you wear sequins?

I have been drooling over everything over at Bakerella for the last hour, and have subsequently fallen in love with these little Cake Balls. They are a terrific idea!
