Party Prep

This is what my dining room table looks like right now- and yes, that is pink toilet paper you see. We are in full party planning mode getting ready to celebrate Baby J turning 1! I have been channeling my inner Martha and trying to incorporate so many of the inspiring ideas that I've come across in the blogosphere, and I am very excited about how it will all turn out!

Final Product

These are the final party invitations, which were balloons filled with confetti as well as the rolled up invitation, tied to a stick. The confetti exploded like a little party when the balloon was popped, which we recommended be done outside to avoid a mess. Such a fun little craft, and I really think they turned out great!

My Friday Night...

Tonight I worked on the invitations for Baby J's first birthday party. Why do I torture myself with blowing glitter into balloons through a metal tube (resulting in a mouthful of glitter, of course, on the last one)? Because secretly, I wish I was Martha Stewart, and I love all things crafty and unique- not to mention I will do anything for my little girl! I will post the finished invites as soon as they are all finished, but for now I'm retiring with my DVR and Project Runway.

Pitch a Tent

I love love love this party tent featured over at P is for Party! I am particularly loving the bunches of hot pink flowers tied to each post, and how they make the red and white stripes really pop.

Baby J doesn't strike me as the frilly, pink, girly-girl type, thus I am leaning more toward bright, bold colors. I am definitely looking for some more fun ideas- more to come.
