Not So Complicated

Fern and Feather has one of my favorite movie houses to date featured, and I couldn't be more excited! "It's Complicated" is not only a great movie, but the house Meryl Streep's character lives in is to. die. for. and completely lust-worthy. It makes you want to live in a French country house, grab a big basket and head to the garden, cook gourmet food, and eat ice cream in the bathtub- in case you don't already!

Jane Birkin

If only I could look like this, pregnant!

I was so inspired by Jora's post the other day that I needed a few days to decide which photos I wanted to use. Jane Birkin, inspiration for the oh-so-famous Birkin bag, is the ultimate style icon for a gal like me. She has such a stylish, yet chic, tomboy look, which is perfect for a casual stay-at-home mom like me. Look how amazing she looks just hanging out with her kids! I especially love her bangs. Someday maybe I'll have the guts to try them out myself.
Here are some ideas for trying out Jane's style for yourself!

Inspiration- Coco Chanel

"Luxury is the opposite of vulgarity. Luxury is the opposite of status. It is the ability to make a living by being oneself. It is the freedom to refuse to live by habit. Luxury is liberty. Luxury is elegance. True elegance is refusal."

"Don't spend time beating on a wall, hoping to transform it into a door."

" Look for the woman in the dress. If there is no woman, there is no dress."

"Luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury."

Sixx Design

I can't get enough of "9 By Design" on Bravo these days. I absolutely love Robert and Cortney's eclectic yet impeccable style, mixed in with the chaos of having 7 children (one being a brand new baby!). They buy up amazing properties, redo them, move into them, and then sell them! They are two incredibly brave people people in more ways than one. Check out this piece they did for New York Social DIary.
