Can't Get Enough

I know I've posted about Elva Fields before, but I was just looking at the site again and am completely dying over their new necklaces (most of which are already sold, but still completely gorgeous! If anyone out there happens to be reading this and trying to think of a birthday gift idea for the future, this would be a great place to start! *wink, wink*

Sunshine on a Snowy Day

What a perfectly cheerful idea from Color Me Katie! These photos were from the first big snowstorm that hit us on the east coast back in December. Katie filled spray bottles with colored water and turned the snow into what looked like sno cones! Her whole blog is full of colorful inspirations, check it out!

Erica Annenberg

Today on Hautelook are Erica Annenberg's awesome two-finger rings. I've always loved the look of these- simple, yet different. And these are a steal!

Nanaimo Bars

When I saw these chocolately Canadian treats, perfectly themed for the Olympics, I decided I have to make them! These days, an easy, delicious dessert is just what the doctor ordered!

Springing Up

My personal favorite!

Such beautiful things are popping up over at Anthropologie, and if all this snow isn't enough to make me ready for spring, these clothes certainly are!

Vintage Inspiration

I just found this super cool shop, full of colorful, vintage-inspired costume jewelry, from Carole Tanenbaum. There are some incredibly unique pieces, and it's just a cool site to sift through. Carole also has a blog where she posts the newest additions to her shop, as well as her local appearances.

Love Day

via

I love Valentine's Day- the hearts, the flowers, the candy, and just all the extra love going around! I also love making Valentine crafts and giving them to special friends. It's going to be a nice, quiet Valentine's Day around here, with lots of sweetness and family time. Happy Love Day to all!

Snowed In

This is the view from my front window this morning- we are completely snowed in, yet again. It started around 7 last night and we are supposed to get snow until midnight tonight! I do love a snow day, though, especially when we are all home together. Hot chocolate is definitely in my future today, maybe a few times!

Jeggings

I'm so intrigued by the newest trend out there right now, referred to as "jeggings"- jeans/leggings. They seem like a skinnier skinny jean, of thats even possible, but with a bit more stretch. I didn't particularly like the idea at first, but I saw someone wearing them in real life, and they actually looked pretty cute.

And look how great Emily looks in them?

I might have to give them a shot.

Made With Love

Isn't this a sweet little craft for kids? I would love to have Baby J make this for Daddy for Valentine's Day, if only she wasn't mortified at the thought of having paint on her hands...oh well! I guess a sweet smile and a big hug with have to do for Dad this year!

Temple Grandin

I watched the most fascinating movie last night on HBO called "Temple Grandin," about a woman's journey through life with autism, and how she found a way to utilize her gift to help others. Temple used her ability to think in pictures to help develop a more humane way for cattle to be led to slaughter houses., so as to make every moment of their time on Earth peaceful. Temple Grandin is a true inspiration and is currently an advocate for both people with autism, as well as for animals. Claire Danes plays the lead role and was really phenomenal. If you didn't get a chance to see it last night, keep a look out for it to run again on HBO.

The Happiness Project

I just received my copy of The Happiness Project in the mail today, and I am so excited to start reading it. I've heard a lot about it, and the basic concept is that the author, Gretchen Rubin, dedicates one year of her life to doing things that will make her a happier person, taking advice from Oprah to Aristotle, and many in between. I love the concept and definitely think it will be an inspiration!
