Framed

I have just recently come across the wonderful Framed blog, full of tasty and fairly simple recipes. The author, Kate, is a self-taught cook who posts recipes from all over on her blog, and her requirement is that they take no longer than 30 minutes to make- love that!
I made these chicken skewers Saturday night, and they were delicious!

These are just a few more in the queue for me...

Peach Crumble

Chicken Pot Pie

Chicken With Apples and Sage

Crostini with Lemony Mascarpone and Sweet Fiery Peppers

Slow-Cooker Bolognese

Cake Balls

I have been drooling over everything over at Bakerella for the last hour, and have subsequently fallen in love with these little Cake Balls. They are a terrific idea! And Bakerella even has a cookbook coming out of all different cake balls and cake pops and fun ways to decorate them. So clever! I can't wait to try these!

You Say Tomato...

Everyone I know is talking about the abundance of tomatoes in their gardens these days, and since I am not the best gardener out there, I haven't gotten any tomatoes in my garden yet, so I've been gifted many delicious tomatoes from friends and family. Martha has some amazing looking recipes for using up all of these delicious tomatoes before they're gone.

Brown Sugar Cake

I am only just now realizing that I have back-to-back posts about cake, but I'm almost 7 months pregnant, so can you really blame me?
This cake might be my go-to cake for summer, with some fresh berries and whipped cream or some vanilla ice cream on top...I am making this cake asap. It seems like a great dessert to bring to a summer get-together or dinner, too.

Rainbow Cake

I remember hearing about Kaitlin Flannery's Rainbow Cake a long time ago, and was reminded of it again recently by Ms. Martha herself, and I can't help but think it's the coolest cake I've ever seen! It's even something you could do at home, albeit a bit time consuming...but wouldn't it be a great little surprise to bring to a Memorial Day BBQ?
Here's the recipe if you feel like giving it a go this weekend.

Romancing The Scone

I baked these little beauties this weekend...

...and they were a hit! It was my first time making scones, and it was actually pretty easy, albeit quite messy! I no longer feel intimidated by making scones or the use of vanilla beans. The Pioneer Woman's recipes have all been reliable easy to make, and ridiculously good- I highly recommend any of them.

Salad Sensation

Mark Bittman at the New York Times ingeniously has listed 101 recipes for salads of all kinds, in order to help people to be able to use whatever fresh summer produce they have lying around. It's a great way to beat the lunchtime salad rut I've been finding myself in. Check out all the recipes here.

Buttermilk Pudding Cake

I made this cake tonight.

It wasn't bad...very light. It would probably be great for a brunch- if you can get your hands on some good berries.
