Happy Birthday, My Loves

Today marks one of the most important and special days in my life- it marks the anniversary of me becoming a mother. Two years ago today, my beautiful baby girl entered the world, and not only am I lucky to call her my daughter, but I am also lucky enough to share a birthday with her! And not only that, but my wonderful husband's birthday was two days ago, and it has just been nothing but celebration since. What a wonderful way to celebrate birthdays, as one big family.
And the little guy will have to get his own very special celebration in September!

I have fallen for faux fur like I've fallen for sequins- I can't get enough! The question I beg, yet again, is- when is it appropriate? My sister and I have decided that faux fur is definitely something that needs to be introduced into one's wardrobe in a gradual way, but how do you start? When I see photos like these, I am absolutely in love with the look, but I am just a suburban mom trying to up the chic factor just a tad. Thoughts?

Still no baby, and I'm officially overdue for the second time...ugh. The bright side? They're bringing me in on Tuesday night for an induction- hallelujah! Not to mention, Miss J was more than worth the wait, and I'm sure that will be the case for this little one, too. So I'm now officially in waiting mode for this baby. My due date is this Saturday, August 28th, and I can't wait for this little baby to arrive! I'm trying to stay on top of laundry, keeping the house clean, and stocking the house with all the little things Miss J might need, but otherwise, all I'm doing is waiting. And just to keep things nice and crazy, J has decided that her crib is no longer a suitable place for her to sleep, so we are moving her to a "big girl bed" this week. My little baby is turning into a big girl and getting ready to be a big sister...what a week!
Fingers crossed for a new, healthy arrival soon! Stay tuned!

This past weekend we took a little "familymoon" to D.C. to take Little J to the zoo and to a baseball game. I'm sorry I've been so absent as of late. I am working at a camp this week and am fully off the map for most of the day. I must say, being a working mom for even just one week is about as exhausting as it gets, and my hat goes off to all of those working moms out there, seriously. So needless to say, I am coming home pretty worn out this week, and trying to squeeze in time with my hubby and Little J at night, all while resting my 34-weeks-pregnant body.

I'm enjoying this week, but looking forward to life as I know it come next week.

I hope all of those wonderful, and deserving dads out there enjoyed their special day. Most fathers don't seem to get the appreciation they should for all of the hats they wear each day, whether they are at work all day, or are home with their kids. Yes, us moms are multi-taskers, this we know, but where would we be without the dads? I'll tell you where I'd be: crazy. My husband is an amazing father, and I couldn't have asked for better. And my own dad is the greatest- the kind that acts tough on the outside, but is nothing but a softie when it all comes down to it.

We are getting ready to head back home from a wonderful family vacation. It was completely exhausting, as Disney World can be when you are 27 weeks pregnant and your toddler refuses to ride in a stroller, but it was worth every second to see Baby J's face. She couldn't get enough of it!
It was a great trip, but I am definitely one of those people that needs to get back home to our usual routine after a while. I am considering this trip a huge success, and am so proud of Little J for doing so well!

Happy June, everyone! We are wrapping up the old vacation here, but I couldn't fail to mention how absolutely shocked I was to realize that it was June this morning. Where is this year going? After swooning over a beautiful tray from Magenta, Inc. featured in this month's In Style magazine, I visited their online shop- and I love everything! They have the most unique and beautiful housewares- perfect for spring and summer entertaining! And seriously, how cute is the poppy tray?

sundays are for lovers is an exploration in four parts: eat, rest, laugh, love. there is a particular tenor to a sunday... there's laziness, cooking breakfast, comfy-clothes, time spent in bed, wandering the neighborhood, sitting in a café, house-work, yard-work, making out, art projects, meeting friends at the pub, a last chance to get shit done before the work-week begins and then of course the end of something ... the beginning of something.

This book looks amazing. It seems to capture everything that Sundays are about- cooking breakfast, lounging around, and attempting to be productive, among other things.

What's not to love about casual, chic designer Aubin & Wills? I first spotted them while flipping through this month's Lucky Mag, and I can't get enough! Totally digging the horizontal stripes and lightweight jackets and cardigans.
And P.S.- I'm pretty sure Tori Spelling was wearing this shirt (or something very similar) on "Tori and Dean, Home Sweet Hollywood" a couple weeks ago. Yes, I watch it, please don't judge me. You know her style is super cute...
